Français : Thierry Bouchard (1954-2008), imprimeur, typographe, éditeur et poète, installé à Losne en Côte-d’Or, et Petr Herel (1943-), graveur né en Tchécoslovaquie et vivant en Australie depuis 1979, ont créé ensemble et coédité une superbe collection de 21 livres qu’ils ont publiée sous le nom de Labyrinth Press (1980-2007). Cette collection, généralement bilingue ou trilingue, se caractérise par son extension dans le temps et dans l’espace, avec des œuvres d’Aristote, John Donne, Novalis, Nerval, Baudelaire, Apollinaire, Bohuslav Reynek, Seferis, Daumal, Jan M. Tomeš, Jiří Kolář, Tsaloumas, Pierre Chappuis, Pascal Commère… Tous les livres, imprimés en typographie par Thierry Bouchard, comportent des gravures originales de Petr Herel. Tantôt en atelier lors de séjours en France ou en Australie, tantôt par le biais d’une correspondance nourrie, ces deux artistes du livre ont conçu une série d’ouvrages dont chacun constitue une œuvre d’art à part entière.

English: Thierry Bouchard (1954-2008), a printer, typographer, publisher and poet, based in Côte d’Or (France), and Petr Herel (1943-), engraver born in Czechoslovakia and living in Australia since 1979, jointly created and published a magnificent collection of 21 books under the name of “Labyrinth Press” (1980-2007). This collection, generally bilingual or trilingual, is characterized by its extension in time and space, with works by Aristotle, John Donne, Novalis, Nerval, Baudelaire, Apollinaire, Bohuslav Reynek, Seferis, Daumal, Jan M. Tomeš, Jiří Kolář, Tsaloumas, Pierre Chappuis, Pascal Commère... All the books, printed on letterpress by Thierry Bouchard, include original etchings by Petr Herel. Sometimes in a workshop during visits to France or Australia, sometimes thanks to an intensive correspondence, these two creators, using both art and craftsmanship, designed a series of outstanding books, each of which is a true work of art.
